  • Where is the beginner course?
Monday's Course is at the IAC Shepher Community Center: 6530 Winnetka Ave, Woodland Hills, CA 91367. Thursday's Course is at VBS (Valley Beth Shalom): 15739 Ventura Blvd, Encino, CA 91436.
  • Do I need to have any prior knowledge before coming?
NO! Let our professional staff teach you the basics Israeli dance. If you do have some background in dancing, it would help you pick up the steps quicker, but if not, don't worry, you're in good hands.
  • Who teaches the course?
Sagi Azran, founder of RokdimLA, will be teaching the Beginners Course. Sagi has been a teacher, session leader and a choreographer since he was a teenager. He was only 9 years old when Misha’el Barzilay, one of the most appreciated personalities in the world of Israeli dance, asked him to teach a dance to a crowd of 250 dancers. Years later, Sagi founded an organization in Israel dedicated to teaching kids dance in order to keep them away from violence. Today, living in Los Angeles, Sagi brings exceptional energy to his L.A. sessions with the goal of making sure dancers do not forget the authenticity and value of Israeli dance. Assisting Sagi will be Jeremy Abrams. Jeremy has been dancing for 20 years. He started teaching and programming with Yaron Ben Simhon at the largest sessions in Jerusalem in 2008. Jeremy is also a choreographer, having reached the finals at the Ashdodance choreography competition in Israel, and is currently a session leader at Orange County Israeli Dancing in Santa Ana, California.
  • Can I come dancing without purchasing the course?
Yes you can! If you choose to come dancing without purchasing the course you will have to pay the full admission price ($15) to enter every session.
  • Can I come watch?
Of course you can come watch! We would love to have you. However, if you are not enrolled in the course, you will still have to pay the entrance fee at the door.

Course promotion price ends on 11/14. If you choose to come dancing without purchasing the course you will have to pay the full admission price ($15) to enter every session.
  • What happens if I miss a week?
Unfortunately, should a dancer need to miss a class, there will be no makeup classes or credits provided. But don't worry, you can review anything you might have missed on our "Dances Taught" page!
  • Do I need a partner?
Absolutely not! You can learn on your own or with someone special - totally up to you!
  • What should I wear to class?
We usually recommed clothes! But in all seriousness, Israeli dancing is about movement and enjoyment. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and shoes that keep you cool and relaxed.
  • What happens after the course?
At that point you should be an intermediate dancer! We will continue our beginners classes. You can continue coming every week and pay the regular admission fee, or purchase a multi entry dance card.
